Mark Ragan Mark Ragan is the publisher and CEO of Ragan Communications, Inc., the nation's leading provider of corporate communication information and training, and co-owner of Ragan Consulting Group. He cut his teeth in journalism as a reporter for the Williston Daily Herald in North Dakota, the Anderson Independent-Mail in South Carolina and the Billings Gazette in Montana. He has applied his journalistic skills to the organization built by his father, Larry Ragan, creating some of the first brand journalism news sites in the industry with and, which attract 1 million visitors a year.
Jim Ylisela Jim Ylisela is co-owner and managing partner of Ragan Consulting Group. He is an award-winning veteran Chicago journalist with more than 30 years of experience in newspapers and magazines, including the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, Chicago magazine, The Chicago Reporter and Crain's Chicago Business. Jim has won a dozen awards for investigative reporting and is the author of "Who Killed the Candy Lady?", an investigation into Chicago's greatest unsolved murder, the disappearance of candy heiress Helen Brach. From 1988 to 2001, Ylisela served on the faculty and was co-director of the Medill News Service at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. With RCG, he works with communicators across industries to create brand journalism news sites, organize and train writers and editors and restore reporting (and creative storytelling) to internal and external communications.
Megan Friedman Megan Friedman is the deputy news editor at Hearst Digital Media, working in an internal newsroom for the digital side of Hearst Magazines. She writes and edits news and features for sites like,, and, among many others. She is a generalist writer and editor who covers news, entertainment, lifestyle, and politics, especially as they relate to women's everyday lives. She has previously held positions at NBC News and TIME.
Robin Pogrebin Robin Pogrebin is a reporter on the culture desk of The New York Times, where she covers art, auctions and architecture. At the Times, she has also covered the media industry for the Business Desk and city news for the Metro Desk. Prior to joining the Times in 1995, she was an associate producer for Peter Jennings' documentary unit at ABC News and, before that, a staff reporter at The New York Observer. Her freelance work has been featured in magazines like Vogue, Town & Country and Departures, along with several book anthologies. Pogrebin, who also teaches writing at the School of Visual Arts, is a frequent moderator, radio guest and speaker. She lives in New York.
